A lovely shot -- as a child ( many many years ago ) I used to collect picture cards which were found in the Brook Bonds tea packets There were different series - eg British - Animals , birds , fish , reptiles , and the same of the World ! I remember getting this Australian bird and I was intrigued by its Australian name and more so that this bird laughed and wondered what he sounded like ! Those cards were a marvellous form of learning about Natural history in those days !!
@alophoto@beryl whenever I hear them on youtube it's exactly what they sound like, but at the same time it's nothing like how they sound when they are out wild in trees that are quite separated from each other and a good distance away. It sounds just loud and noisome up close in an enclosure. laugh kookaburra laugh, gay your life must be :)
