Moses in the cradle by koalagardens

Moses in the cradle

For the rainbow challenge. The Rhoeo is commonly called Moses in the cradle because the flower as you can see here looks rather like a little basket with something wriggling inside, and even though this is not a water plant, you can imagine it as being vaguely 'bullrush-like'.
The topside of the leaves are green, the underside purple and the flowers purple as you can see. This is the large one, but I have the dwarf one as well and it makes an awesome garden border - such a showy colour.
It is not an Aussie native, but it does not become invasive so I enjoy it and have a lot of it. I actually brought it here from my previous home, so I have a long history with this beauty. It seemed a good ending to the purple days of March :)
