@koalagardens ours are usually high in the trees, there used to be one who visited our neighbour because they fed it. I don’t believe in feeding wildlife. They are usually shy and don’t hang at the lake much, it’s always good to see them in the forest area.
@sugarmuser I'm hearing ya - I only provide water sources. This fella was about 10 m up the tree - but usually they fly off by the time I'm about 15-20 m from a tree, so this was a real bonus :)
They are interesting because even though they are kingfishers, they don't often eat fish and prefer to be in the euc forests than near a water hole. nature is grand :)
