This is the same kooka as my nifty fifty capture, but on full zoom and I did just a tiny crop to increase the rule of thirds composition.
This shows the bird clearly, but then the previous image shows the landscape so they both hold merit :)
What do you think?
I vote for this one. You know it seems to me that there are some people who join 365 and their photos don’t ever improve much. Not true for you. I’m really impressed with how quickly you are getting better and better
@jgpittenger thank you Jane - there are some incredibly talented people here and it is a happy place for learning!
With my new computer I've now purchased LR as well as PS which I have always used. But I haven't had a chance yet to open LR and try these techniques there, but I do agree I could try a little of this at least in PS. I appreciate suggestions as it really gives the opportunity to learn :)
@jgpittenger I have just changed settings on this camera (my old powershot) to take in jpg and raw. My old version of PS on the old mac book pro would not play with the raw images no matter what versions of PS camera raw I kept downloading.
Now I have my new setup, I've been bringing them in raw from the new olympus, but actually didn't realise my bridge camera could do raw as well. This is the great thing about people taking the time to really comment here THANK YOU!!!!! Pity, I was photographing yellow tailed black cockatoos this morning, wish I had the raw of them to play with .... ahhh they will be back and there is yet another day to play :)
Both versions have merit but I think I prefer this one. I also agree with @jgpittenger regarding the LR/PS adjustments. That would really make it pop. Nice composition.
Very nice shot of the Kookaburra, I agrees with Jane, lightning up around the eyes would really improve the photo.
I use the Canon powershot SX60 and I shot in raw all the time!
