only a mother could ...

they look a bit like little vultures, so ugly and have quite a distinct call!
Really hard to catch, but I ended up quite liking the POV of this image.
Thank you for the awesome comments and questions on my photos.
You're right, but what a great bird, and photo!

Oh, the head doesn’t look as if it belongs to the bird! Lovely shot!

Carole's right, I looked and looked, and could see rodent sat on something. Then I read the description. I can still see the rat LOL

@jamibann @30pics4jackiesdiamond @carole_sandford @yorkshirekiwi I know right, they are pretty wow - and that lump in the middle of the beak, all that wrinkly skin and just odd hairs sticking out! this is the first year I've ever had them here and they are very fast to flee if I appear, but are amazing

Oohs , I can not make head or tail of this ( especially the head !) Like the others I see a rodent !! - what does the "rodent" represent ?

Lovely shot. The harder to catch, the greater the joy of prey.

@imaginingsbysue I'm not sure, it was really windy when I got this image and it was moving about a lot, really didn't hold still for a moment :)

Oh my, it took me some time to ‘un-see’ the rodent 😉
