You know it's spring when the reptiles begin emerging. I've been worried about the water dragons because of the long drought.
The spring-fed pond below this tree is either dry all very close to it, so it's going to be having a big impact on a lot of things as we heat up quickly towards summer.
Thank you for the awesome questions and comments on my photos.
A lovely capture - such a wonderful creature with its super long tail and in camouflage .with the tree's colour and texture ! Lets hope there will be rain and sufficient water for this little creature to survive and live healthily ! fav
Do you have enough water to put out an artificial source for them? We have a few "frog ponds' that we put in over the years and it's amazing how many reptiles and birds use them as a water source.:)
@robz not down the back of the property, but I do have some water out. it is something I am going to have to look into. I am about to set up a lovely one, but it is near the house too and hooked up to an old water tank.
I think I need to google some ideas :) @robz
I have town water so I 'can' do anything like this, the evaporation rate just now is huge and we haven't even hit hot weather!
