Really different, and yet similar to the ones being posted by Diana and Sally. The flower stalks are rather tall so you can't see the actual aloe leaves in this, but the rhoeos that are behind the aloes.
These all sit just in front of my bird bath that featured back in Nov, and attract lots of lovely honey eaters.
@beryl they were originally in a pot on the balcony of my oldest daughter in her first home after she married. The pot became so full of them I helped her split them all up and we gave many away, including I brought a pot of them home - this was around 15 years ago I think. I've moved house since then, but brought some of her aloe with me. I often look at them in various gardens here now and smile remembering that pot of aloe's begging to be released 😀
@helstor no no in my text I explained that the leaves are the rhoeos behind the aloes, it's just the flower stems are so tall you can't see the aloe leaves :)
@kvphoto yes this is the flower of the aloe vera - the purple leaves are the rhoeos that are growing behind the aloe - it is just that the flower stems are very tall . I must do another pov shot showing the spiky aloe leaves :)
