I've been trying to get a photo of this for a while. This is a native butterfly. The monarch butterfly is also known as the 'greater wanderer'.

I learned something new today. I’ve always been impressed with the 3,000 mile migration of our Monarchs. To see your beautiful Monarch “relative” made me Google the species and see all the known Monarchs. Thank you!

@k9photo just like the monarch, they are the 'boy bits' called sex scales. in most butterflies these secrete pheromones
