Down the cellblock

What did I do on my day off? Yes, I went to prison.

Our photo club had a field trip to Philadelphia to visit the Eastern State Penitentiary, a prison built in 1822 and closed in 1971. It was left to decay for 20 years, then eventually reopened as a tourist attraction. It is a wonderland for photographers. But I was glad I was able to leave...

Best on black, if you have time.
The shots you took from this prison are really amazing...You've captured the kind of stuff that words very well!

this one is my favorite of your ESP shots. I was there during a vacation the October BEFORE I discovered 365, so I didn't even know what HDR was back then. I still got some sweet shots in there, but this HDR shot really has me wanting to go back and use what I know now to reshoot some of my shots. GREAT job!!! (and fav)

@taffy @linnypinny @jsw0109 Thank you Taffy, Lin, and Jeff!
Jeff, I took a lot of HDR shots there, but this one was done as HDR-after-the-fact, where I just took the one original shot and processed it two ways (dark and light) and combined them using Photomatix Essentials. You can do this with your existing photos. Try it out! (Easier if you shot RAW, but not impossible with JPEGs.)
