Hunting Island Starscape

“Learn as if you were to live forever."

--Mahatma Gandhi--I love to learn new things and shooting starry skies is very new to me but ever so much fun. I plan on continuing my learning journey again tonight.

Such a pretty starscape.

My goodness, that is stunning! Another thing I long to try. Live in a town that is too full of light pollution to see any stars most of the time, but it is on my bucket list! Love this one.

I love the variety of colors on the horizon, and the starry sky is so lovely, very well captured! Keep going!

When I’ve shot stars with either my previous Sony A7R3 or my present A7R4 using a wide angle lens, the longest shutter speed I could use was 15 sec before I got some trailing (without my new toy...the move shoot move start tracking device) I see you shot for 30 sec and have some trailing

Lovely capture!

@jgpittenger thanks for the info. in my research I read that you divide the focal length by 500 to determine the maximum shutter speed that can be used before getting star movement and at 13mm that would be a max of 38 seconds... I guess that may not be accurate.

Wonderful!

This is absolutely magnificent. Fav

@kvphoto I’ve tried the focal length divided by 500 route and not liked what I got so adjusted so I wouldn’t get trails. I like noise better than trails

@jgpittenger I just ordered the MSM... got the full kit since I wasn’t sure what I needed.
