Day 1 of my Grand Canyon Backpacking trip (from February 25th) began on the South Kaibab Trail. This is the view from the trail. The trail had many switchbacks and in places you could look down and see it winding around. The photo I will share tomorrow will give you an idea of what it was like to look over the steep side of the trail to see the trail wind around.
