2019 04 28 Lourens River

This was taken before the encounter with the puffadder yesterday. Lourens River running through Radloff Park in Somerset West. I shudder now to think of the reeds I clambered through to get closer to the river bank. Anything could have been lurking there!
Lovely shot of this peaceful scene. I guess you will only go back wearing high boots 😉

Thankfully, nothing was lurking to prevent this magnificent photo. In general snakes will go the other way given the opportunity to escape. So perhaps you encountered some and didn’t know it!
