I was trying to take a pic out towards the south-west of False Bay, turned around, and saw this young guy sitting on the bench, seemingly deep in conversation with the inquisitive gull. A moment after this was taken, he looked at me and grinned conspiratorially! A lovely moment :)
Is it my eyes or is he wearing a black armband Gillian ? Those rocks look amazing too , what are they made of ? A lovely moment of mutual companionship !
@calx the gull? or the guy? The seagull, probably, what have you brought for my lunch? The guy, probably, stop stalking me, you bl**dy bird, I'm taking a break! Oh dear! It's been a long day :)
@happypat Well spotted, Pat! I hadn't noticed it earlier :( I went back to the original and enlarged until I could make out that it looks like a leather band, with a few shells attached to it. I'll nip down to the same spot tomorrow (or Monday) and check whether he is around :) Now I'm curious! And as for the rocks - oh dear, I'm going to have to study my rocks before I post any. The "rocks" against the harbour wall are locally known as "dolosse" ... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dolos . And yes, Pat, it was truly a lovely moment! :))
@mcdermgl Thanks McD. and LOL! It was named False Bay because the first sailors (Portuguese, I think, if my memory of history lessons is correct - Bartholomeu Dias springs to mind) thought they were sailing into Table Bay but then realised they hadn't. Something along those lines! How nice to be made to think about what I take for granted!!
