Especially to make sure that we don't go to the extremes of post-processing. I usually do not like the sharp geometric "bokeh" (often very artificial and showing the intrusiveness of post-processing) but the effect here is not bad since nothing "natural" shows through.
But what was the story that gave 5 pointed stars here? If your lens gives good natural bokeh, then fine. But forcing it is not my cup of tea. My (conservative) opinion entirely of course.
@frankhymus I used a star template from a bokeh kit. You strap it to the lens and it creates the star. I bought the kit on line for $25. It came with 20 or so different shapes you can use. I agree it doesn't look natural but it's something different and kind of fun. I use it very sparingly but do have a heart shaped one in my project somewhere (August, I think).
