No interesting shots from today so I'm going to share these magical trees from the world famous Butchart Gardens in Victoria. I've been for the flowers in the spring but never for the lights at Christmas. I wish I had brought my tripod!! Please view LARGE!
@kwind i apoligize..for some reason i thought i had seen someone call you Kate but i was guessing...i usually just put K..but i am glad to meet you Kim! :)
I have seen the flowers too, but did not realize that they did this for the holidays. wow, need to put it on my list. This is a fantastic shot no matter where you are...FAV
And it is either that great camera of yours, or good correction afterwards, or both together, but there is no apparent high ISO noise at this resolution. @dalboy That's how kwind got to a "normal" 1/100 second shutter, along with the wide f/2.8. Checking the exif, if it hasn't been removed, will usually answer most shooting questions. I am so glad most of the best photographers are happy to leave this stuff in.
@frankhymus This camera is known for producing "normal" results at high ISO numbers. I also used a ledge to steady the camera and held my breath to minimize movement.
Beauty! You will have to go back with your tripod. I am hoping to get in to Ottawa on Friday night to shoot parliament and the pretty lights. Will be my first time night shooting.
Instant fav. It's like those glitter pics you used to make as a child where you put the glue on and then reveal the picture when you put the glitter on. Gorgeous xx
