Waterfront Picnic by kwind

Waterfront Picnic

I drove by Elk Lake in Victoria today and spotted this picnic table nearly submerged in the lake so I pulled over. It was a beautiful day here!

I'm behind on my commenting...sorry! We're here for my daughter's AAA Provincial swim meet. I'm a multi-tasker so I also ordered our doors and windows for the new house, did a little shopping and drove around looking at houses for ideas. I went to transfer my photos from my memory card to the iPad and realized my new ipad has a different connection so that meant a trip to two different electronics stores to get the required conversion thing. Thank you for all the comments on my digger shot from yesterday and welcome to several new followers! We're excited about the build. I'm happy to report that my amazing husband managed to get the forms ready, inspected and poured with concrete all before 4:00 today. He's a machine! I'll get caught up with all your masterpieces tomorrow (hopefully)!
Gorgeous place

Very tranquil. Reminds me of a spot at lake burleigh griffin in Canberra.

Ok.. so now I can comment. I really like this, well spotted! I liked the spring colors of the original post, but I really like this one too!

Great tree in the foreground. I think my house may look like that picnic table if this rain we're having doesn't ease lol.

@m9f9l That was weird...your comment was just super long and now it's not. Go figure?? So, you saw the first one I uploaded. I fiddled with a bunch of settings from some iPad app but I thought it looked really fake when viewed here so I switched it to the original, unedited version (just cropped it a tad).

Did someone push it in there or was it all flooded again? Sometimes I go down there and there's there's this tree near where you took this that's totally surrounded by water! Also, we probably passed each other at some point today! My mom and I took the dog for a walk around Thetis - go figure! :)

What an incredible shot my dear! I love the peaceful feeling here... Good luck to your daughter at the swim meet :) and that is awesome about the fast progress on your house! Yayy for ordering new doors and windows :) So exciting!!

If it was summer time it would be a great table to sit at to have a picnic - you could cool your feet while eating. Nicely spotted K

I was hoping you wouldn't notice that!LOL I saw your pic right as you posted it, and wrote a comment, but when I hit post, it said invalid something, so I realized you had taken the pic off again. So I copied what I wrote and figured when you put the pic back, I'd just paste it back in. Then when you DID put it back in... I pasted, TOTALLY not thinking, because in the interim I had cut and pasted a family history thing!! I hate it when that happens!LOL

This is a lovely scene... what a silky shine on the water.
Just thought - you'd have to pay a lot of money to sit at a table in the water and have lunch in tropical places..... !!

What an interesting shot. Nicely composed.

Really beautiful - l get exhausted just reading about your day:)

@bjornert It looked like it was just there naturally. The ground was really wet and muddy ...you should have seen my shoes afterwards! That would have been funny if we walked by each other without even knowing.

Does look so peaceful though, in spite of the 'wet feet' table. :)

Would be a treat in the summer, might not have the same appeal in the winter. Gorgeous shot overall.

Cool shot! I see your daughter swims!! I used to swim for the Surrey Knights for 8 years :) Good for her for making AAA's!!
March 5th, 2013
@kkolstad We were just in Surrey for the AAs. My 9 year old son qualified. I'm hoping he'll be at the AAA level by June so I can avoid having to go to both.
