I chaperoned my son's field trip to the Royal British Columbia Museum in Victoria today. We left at 7am and got open at 8pm. I opted to drive in my own vehicle instead of a school bus filled with 50 kids. It was great fun but a lot of driving and I'm exhausted today. This is an iPhone shot of one of the displays. I'm going to bed now and will catch up with everyone tomorrow.
I had to look at this large.....and they still look real! That is amazing! That sounds like a VERY long day to me! I hope you have a good night's sleep!
Well, isn't this quite the crew? I'm tired just reading how you chaperoned that many kids for that long a time!!! You are a brave woman!!! It does sound like fun but I would have to then sleep for 12 hours!! Love the shot of these characters!! FAV!
I'm not surprised you're exhausted. Five hours with kids shattered me on a daily basis, and you had 13 hours and had to drive. You're a star! This is a great diorama and the taxidermists have done a great job
My first thought was that your feet likely got muddy while taking this picture. And then I read that it's a display in a museum! I could've been convinced you'd been at the beach, hangin' out with the water fowl.
Isn't this truly a magnificent museum?! Each time we visit Victoria, we try to spend some time there. We were told that school children from miles around come here, so I'm glad to see they were right on the mark! So glad you got to partake as well!
@Weezilou Yes.... 3.5 hours it took them on the bus. I was about 3 hours in the car. I've taken probably 6 classes when I used to teach full time. One of the kids I was chaperoning had never been before and she was loving it!
@panthora I took my mom and we picked up two aunts along the way. They all went for lunch with another of their sisters while I went to the museum. Thank goodness I had them to talk to the whole way and the weather was stunning. The days either side of the trip were super nasty!
