Taken in Santa Monica. This is actually my husband. I spotted this abandoned sign and made him pose for me. Thanks for you comments while we were away. I'm going to get back to commenting soon. We got home yesterday afternoon, went for Easter dinner at my parents and went to bed. My son proceeded to throw up all night and is now laying on the couch not feeling well. I've got all our laundry done and I've gone through the Santa Monica/Venice Beach pictures but still need to do all the Disneyland ones. It's 2:44pm and I'm still in my PJs. It's time to get off the computer and go for a walk. I will return, I promise!
What a fun shot, did he get any offers? Wow what a time you have had since your return from holiday. The down side of holidays is the ton of washing you have to wade through. Hope your son is better soon.
The contrast of the clearly perfectly fine man and the sign worked well to tell a story. Your narrative -- great to have time to look at photos and hang out, sad to read your son is feeling low while on vacation!
The shots a prop inspires! Great idea, having the husband pose. Hey, a vacation hits the coffers so this might be a way to recoup some of the funds. :)
Great shot...I do have a problem with the "sign people"...willing to give to those in true need however. Sometimes I wish they would at least "offer" something in return...maybe a dance, song, joke, a wild flower, maybe a smile and promise to pay it forward? Sounds like you had a favulous trip and look forward to your images. Sorry your husband got ill...hope he is better soon.
Hysterical! So here's the way I think... I see this and my first thought is, "Who IS this jerk that he posed for your camera and you gave him a dollar?!" ...whoops! Best I not be so hasty to judge! He's a nice-looking husband who was willing to help you get a funny photo... forgiven?!
Such a wonderful shot.....your husband is a good model! Now, all I want to know is if you brought that sign home with you, or left it where it was for the next person in need!

@panthora I found the sign. It looked clean and new. We took the shot quickly and left it. I think gage picked up a virus on the plane. He wasn't sick until we got home that night. His colitis has been good.
