Boston Public Library by kwind

Boston Public Library

After two days in New York we took a 3.5 hour Amtrak train to Boston. It was our first time in the city and we loved it!! Our first night we went for a walk and ended up in the beautiful Boston Public library - the oldest in the country. I didn't have a tripod so I just set the camera on the ledge and shot blind with the thing in auto focus. You can see I got one person walking down the stairs - she's the blur on the landing.

Love the lattes of light and the texts!

What a beautiful shot of this historic building - didn't know it was the oldest library, but of course, that makes sense. Love the colors and those beautiful panels.

It's a great space, isn't it? Did you pop in to the NY Public library and/or Grand Central Station on 42nd street when you were in Manhattan? Two days in new York perhaps and then the Excela to Boston?

A great view into and capture of this beautiful interior.

@frankhymus We went to the library and grand central last trip. I wish we could have returned but our two days were so full that we couldn't fit anything else in. We took the Amtrak from penn station to Boston.

@kwind So glad you got to see a lot of "my" territory. I don't know that I will get to the west coast, but I plan to get the French experience in Montreal and Quebec City in November. I hope my French is good enough. I think I have the key down however for bilingual services, really all of Quebec. Just don't try to be smart and speak even a little French if you can't continue the conversation. Right? But I would like to become more fluent than I am in French, so what should I do and still maintain amicable relations?

@frankhymus Have a great trip. I've been to Montreal and didn't find the language barrier an issue. The old part of the city is beautiful - I felt like I was in Europe. I think there's more "french" in Quebec City though but as long as you're polite and patient you should be fine!!

I think there is a problem with your first sentence because you are say after being in Boston you took a train ride to Boston. Sorry I get hung up on things like that. Boston is a great city.
