Yesterday morning I was getting ready for the day and I heard a loud banging noise. I looked outside and saw a giant humpback whale slapping his flipper on the water. It was loud!! I ran for my camera and got a spectacular show as the whale proceeded to leap out of the water several times! It was rather incredible...the best whale show I've seen from my patio since living here almost five years!
you are indeed lucky to have witnessed this. most of us would have to fly somewhere and pay to see such a thing. i remember the time we went to the maritimes. went to see the whales, the whales stood us up! :-D aces, kim. aces!
Every day as you post, I am finding it just a little harder not to be jealous! You captured this well and I love the bonus of the glistening water - not to mention the passing bird. We had an 8 hour whale watching boat trip on our last holiday in Mull - but we didn't see a single whale.
You're a lucky girl to live on Vancouver Island. we get excited when we see a pine squirrel in a tree and you see giant humpback whale.

Oh wow my husband will be so jealous when I show him this.. I think that is his dream with my new camera that I capture a whale 🐳 picture for him! Fav!!!
