First ever Purchase - 2 up, 2 down.

This is not the best capture as I could only view this little terrace house through a fence. Yet this little home means so much to my history. In the early 70's this was the very first home I actually bought, on a mortgage, and of course this put me on my way as a home owner.

Known as a mid terrace, (just the little bit in the middle). had just 2 rooms downstairs and only 2 upstairs with no bathroom and an outside toilet, it was freezing to go out to in the middle of the night during Winter.

The good thing was it only cost me £1000 ($1500) and I had to pay £3 ($4 1/2) a week for the repayments, that's until I managed to sell 2 years later for £4500 ($6750). Not much profit but I was on the first step of the ladder.
What a great story! And I would call any transaction where you get more than 4 times your investment back a success! Do you wonder what it looks like inside now?

Well we all have to start somewhere and I think you did well on your first purchase! Times that by 18 and it would be GREAT profit in SA! Super capture!

@linnypinny @lynnilou @joeyc @carolmw @brillomick @rubicon @vega @philcameron59 @virtualbrownie Thank you all for your comments, to be honest it was cold very damp and I was pleased to have sold it for a more modern house that didn't need any maintenance.

Wonderful story, I loved my first house, that also was a mid terrace but it had a bathroom, needed it with the young family. Oh how I loved that house:0)

Great story...from small beginnings. Congrats on having the foresight to buy early on. Likely it was a struggle but well worth it. Not sure about the outhouse tho. :)
