Although my loving Sister Mo past away last October, it was today we had to give her the final journey that she had requested. She wanted her ashes place around a large tree on a hillside above her home and near the famous Rodborough Fort that overlooks all the valleys.
Now you might feel that this is an unusual photograph to share with you all, but I know that Mo and all the family are quite happy to share this with you. It was hard for my Brother-in-Law to complete her wishes but as you can see she has a wonderful view.
On a lighter side, in my Sisters final weeks I had told her I was going to make her ashes into egg-timers so that she would finally be on time for once. My Niece said today that wouldn't be right as she never had a waistline like an egg-timer.
This is such an emotive collage - I love how you pandered to her request. She sure has a magical view! And now, when you are feeling down, you can go and sit beside her and take in that view too, and have a secret chat too. Fabulous, just fabulous!
Oh it is a view and a half, the girl had a good eye. So sorry for your brother in law, hope he finds comfort in her chosen place. I think she will give you plenty of photo op's.
Egg timer, gives me a thought for myself;0)
Heather, that's a most unusual diptych and a lovely tribute to your sister to accompany it. I thought it was in foreign climes at first and how lovely that you had such a beautiful English day for the occasion.
What a lovely tribute. My mom scattered the ashes of aunt near her father's grave this summer. Taking a photo didn't occur but would have been nice since there isn't a headstone.
Your sister chose well for her resting place and you will have wonderful memories as you go, sit and chat with her there. She was obviously a terrific sister with a similiar good sense of humour as you are able to share this personal moment with all of us. Thanks.
I am so sorry about the loss of your sister, but I am sure she is happy you let her rest where she wanted to be. I want to go in the same way. My hubby wants to be buried in his purple suit so everyone can see how good he looks in it one more time. lmao. To each his own,.
One of the most gorgeous views I've ever seen. You and your sister must have shared a love of beautiful landscapes since you seem to capture so many amazing places. Thanks for sharing this.
