Once again I was out in the countryside when I heard an unusual noise behind me, there quite high was this old aircraft but before I managed to get my camera out it was almost on it's way.
I did manage this capture and then once home set about looking through my records to see what it was. I once was an anorak plane spotter with my Niece back in the 80's & 90's so have all my reference books. Going by the registration, it's a:
SNCAN Stampe SV.4C built in 1947, so the same age as me. It was actually used in “Aces High” film in 1976. Great looking biplane of the time.
I'm posting early as my football club Forest Green Rovers has the most important match in the clubs 125 year history. A win today and we are in a 3 match playoff for promotion. I'm very nervous and need to get everything ready on the PC.
As for the football, my club Forest Green Rovers draw today but with the other results we are through to the Play-offs where we play Bristol Rovers home and away live on BT Sport TV.
Incidentally, it is Bob's Birthday today !
I'll keep my fingers crossed!!
