I had to go down to the village post office this lunchtime and then popped over my friends house opposite for a cup of Earl Grey and a chat. For a change I was shown into the lovely lounge, (I'm usually pushed into the kitchen), as she had a lovely fire burning and it was a warm room.
When she went into the kitchen to make our tea I spotted a loaf of bread stood on top of the mantelpiece . Funny place to put a loaf of bread I thought and inquired what it was doing there. "It's come out the freezer and was thawing out", was the reply.
Well I was feeling toasty in front of the fire, I wonder if the bread was also feeling toasty as well. My friend was obviously using her loaf here, to me this is where a clock should go.
