In 1951 this became our home in Gloucestershire after my Father was posted to a local Airfield nearby. I was just 4 years old and the house had just been built and allotted to the Air Ministry by the local council.
Within the next year my Dad transformed the front garden from a building site to a lovely garden with hexagonal pavements and flower boards. A tree was planted in the centre and he looked after it daily. The paths may have gone and a parking area added, but my Fathers tree still remains to give me all the memories I had in the 50's and early 60's.
A lovely young lady showed me both the front and back garden and explained that she had also been brought up in this house since she was 9, and although she had moved away it was her Mothers home. How many other families will be brought up here with happy memories.
What a lovely story and how nice that you can go back and see it all these years later.
David planted a tree in the garden of one of our many married quarters years ago and I wonder if it is still there. too far to drive to find out now though.
