We have had some very strange weather this morning with a very grey and dark atmosphere. I had to go shopping so made my way to a local supermarket.
As I drove into Sainsbury's car park I noticed everyone was looking up to the sky with their mobile phones taking pictures of the sun. Getting out of the car this was what the sun looked like. I always have my camera in my car when I go out, so grabbed a few pictures of the red sun myself.
I've since heard that the strange effect was being caused by a Sierra Desert Sand storm that had come in with the wind and storms that we seem to have missed in our area, the aftermath of a hurricane those American friends have sent over to us.
