The Droste effect, also known as mise en abyme, is the effect of a picture appearing within itself, in a place where a similar picture would realistically be expected to appear. The appearance is recursive and could go on forever. (Thanks, Wikipedia) I've seen some versions of it on 365 before. @tande @scatcat I used Adobe Pixel Blender and a Droste filter (both free). It's not that difficult but you need to 'read the manual first'!

@janiskay @nadaa Of course, Janice, I read the discussion ( http://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/23807/think-pink) and I especially chose a pink flower to post. We don't have Breast Cancer Awareness Month (or any awareness months) here, but it is something important!

Great effect, would've to try this!
October 13th, 2014
Fabulous effect and wonderful result of a gorgeous pink flower. FAV and follow.

@laetitiapetrussa is breast-cancer a large problem in your country?
October 13th, 2014
@janiskay it is the most frequent cancer in women, with 10000 new diagnoses per year on 10 milion people. We do have many prevention campaigns and the healthcare system provides free screening. I work in a hospital with a very good oncological centre and our genetics lab was one of the first to develop and offer patients a test to screen IVF embryos on the precence of the BRCA gene so the disease would not be carried on to the next generation.
October 13th, 2014
@overalvandaan thank you Saxa! Be sure to tag me once you do try it!
October 13th, 2014
This is beautiful such a lovely way to bring awareness to this disease. I am currently waiting for results from BRCA1 and 2 praying that I do not have the gene so that my family hopefully don't have to go through what I have been through twice now

@shawnasays @doodlebugdee @roachling @thresheg @bill_fe @amandal @anazad511 thank you so much guys for the many favs and comments! I'm happy if I inspired you, I think that's what this project is all about. :-) Also, I like making pretty things.
October 13th, 2014
@denisefuller thanks, Denise. I wish you lots of strength! I hope your family is spared, but even if you have the gene there's a big chance you didn't pass it to them.
October 13th, 2014
Fabulous Laetitia. I'll have to try this out when I get home. The discovery of the BRCA gene is a life saver. A colleague of my daughter's has just come through a double mastectomy and once she has had her family they will remove her womb and ovaries. She's in her mid 20s and so grateful it was found.
