295Oz Bow

295 / 365
The final bow & stretch before I brought Ozzy to the Vet's Office this morning for his knee surgery. I took a bunch of pictures of him doing his stretching routine. He also does this face wiping thing on the rug. He goes in a circle one way, turns and goes the other way. My sister calls it "Making Crop Circles", and it does look like Ozzy is making crop circles. I think he likes the feeling of the rug massaging his face. He has allergies like me. Maybe I should rub my face on the rug. LOL!

Anyway, Ozzy's knee surgery is this afternoon. Poor guy didn't have anything to eat since last night. He will be staying overnight at the Vet's office, so I won't see him until tomorrow. I will add something later to let everyone know how his surgery went. There will be no cast on him. I think its will be a pretty easy surgery as Ozzy has no issues other than his knee floating. Let's hope so. I felt bad bringing him in. He trembled like crazy. Then he kissed the vet and carried his leash for her.

One thing I found offensive was the waiver I had to sign about his anesthesia. If something were to happen I can't hold them responsible. Well, what if they screw up? What if they overdosed my dog and he dies? I wanted to write "Elaine Will Sue" as my name, but the way the secretary scanned my signature, I knew she'd catch that, and then there would be hell to pay for me writing it.

I'm sure all will go well, but it just fries my ass when you have no choice to sign something in order to have the surgery done. I would imagine it's the same signature if I were having surgery, but still. Okay, I'm nervous now.

UPDATE: Ozzy came out of surgery just fine. The surgery was a success. Just thought I'd let everyone know.

I hope everything goes well with Ozzy's surgery! He should be back with you before you know it!

Anita, He won't be back home until tomorrow. I'm sure he will be fine. I just wish there was some other alternative to surgery. But there wasn't. His knee floats too much. There is no other alternative. I did start him on some joint supplements, which the Vet said was a good idea. Between that, and me applying ice after his surgery, he should heal quicker. I may hire a sports therapist to get him back into shape. Uhm, kidding.

I'm thinking of Ozzy today and hoping all goes well with his surgery. Please let us know how it goes. I know the suspense must be killing you, but try to take comfort in knowing you have a good vet whom you trust, and even if they're not the one performing the surgery, they're not going to risk their reputation on working with other vets who aren't highly skilled. (((hugs)))
