The Australian Six Tourer

The first Australian made car to be built in volume with about 900 being made from 1919-1930. The Australian Six went into production in July, 1919 and employed 200 people in 1920. Mechanical parts of motors arrived from America and cars were manufactured, at one stage, at one car per day. However, this was not to continue. Mechanical problems with parts and motors that were poorly manufactured and not of the same quality as those sighted prior to purchase caused the company of F. H. Gordon to recall and repair motors already sold. Having to repair 1000 motors that had been already paid for sent the company broke. This is one of only four to survive and stands in the York Motor Museum, York, Western Australia.
Great shot of this classic car.
