San Jordi by laroque

San Jordi

Saint George will be busy today. Not only the patron saint of England, but of quite a few other countries, as disparate as Serbia, Malta, Portugal and the Palestinian territories, according to the Daily Telegraph. They forgot to mention Catalonia, perhaps because it's not a country, or perhaps because here he is called San Jordi. Today's his day, and Catalan tradition is to exchange a book for a rose. No mention of what colour rose, but I had to choose a red rose of England for my photo.
Lovely shot
