This cast iron statue, called, Notre Dame de Bonne Nouvelle, was supposed to go on top of the church at Port Vendres, but proved to be too heavy. Now she looks out to sea from the headland, where she gets adorned with flowers but occasionally has her halo stolen. The baby used to have one as well, but I think they've given up replacing it.
Does baby Jesus resemble a young Marlon Brando, or am I imaginig things?
