Confinement, day 17 (Time on my hands)

We have plenty of time for reflection at the moment. Musing today about what constitutes "essential supplies" in France. The wine shops are open, the vinegar shops are not. What a lot of difference a bit of oxidation makes.

And then started musing about whether any other country has specialist vinegar shops. Our local one is called "La Guinelle" and does a vinaigre d'absinthe amongst other things. This one is in Lagrasse in our neighbouring département of Aude, in the Corbières wine region. I took this photo during a visit just before Christmas.

Later I started musing about Cyril's passeport. Does he give his profession as "créateur de vinaigres" ? Surely that would confirm to the Border Control people at Dover that everything they ever thought about the French was true.
Made me smile

Funny! To make it clear, we don't have vinegar shops.
