I'm assuming most of you have heard of the Harlem Shake by now?
If not... you're either not immensely engaged in various platforms of social media like the current generation is... or you are not up to date with the current "hip" things going on in the world ;)
allow me to enlighten those of you who are completely lost.
As CBS puts it: "It is the newest dance phenomenon that has taken over the internet"
Here's a video. Watch it. Then understand it. Or at least try to ;) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gfoBCshFs6s
What do I think of the dance?
Well. I'm not going to lie. At first I had absolutely no idea how to process it. I saw no point in it and couldnt wrap my mind around the craziness.
But maybe that is the point. To not be a point. It's all fun random craziness. What's not to like about that? haha
So anyways. I'm posting this today to announce that this afternoon, I participated in my first harlem shake dance on Ball State's campus where I go to school. About 200 kids showed up at the scramble light, which is an intersection on campus that allows students to cross within a time period of 30 seconds, and were filmed doing this new dance craze. Once the video of my school doing it is posted on youtube, I'll share it here... but until then, here's a collage haha
My favorite part was seeing a multitude of fantastically randomly dressed college students come together in one place. I wouldn't say I was crazy enough to go half naked like some... but that'd be me up there wrapped in a plaid blanket with the lampshade on my head. I'll let you be the judge of my weirdness ;) And even with that blanket I was still freezing! I dont know how some of the guys did it. It was snowing and at least 30 degrees.
Omg, I was JUST watching some Harlem Shake videos on YouTube, and when I saw this picture I thought "They must've been doing the Harlem Shake!" Then I read the title! Pretty catchy beat eh? Haha, I love it! :)
I had been seeing different Harlem Shake videos....and wondering what it was. S you have to wear a costume? :0).i like your hair color! It was darker last year, wasn't it? I remember because my niece Erin who is on here has long dark brown hair like you...
@espyetta I have not dyed my hair but I've gotten that same comment that people think my hair has become lighter... must be haha but yes, generally people dress up in something silly for the harlem shake!!
