This picture reminded me of Corinne Bailey Rae's song "Put Your Record's On" (which I love :D)...so here are some of the lyrics:
"Three little birds, sat on my window.
And they told me I don't need to worry.
Summer came like cinnamon
So sweet,
Little girls double-dutch on the concrete.
Maybe sometimes, we've got it wrong, but it's alright
The more things seem to change, the more they stay the same
Oh, don't you hesitate.
Girl, put your records on, tell me your favourite song
You go ahead, let your hair down
Sapphire and faded jeans, I hope you get your dreams,
Just go ahead, let your hair down."
Such a happy song :) This picture doest represent what the song says word for word, but I feel the over all message of the song does, which is to live happily and to be yourself. I took this picture a couple nights ago...it was really cloudy...but somehow it managed to let me add a neat little effect...and now I sort of like the picture :)
Kit - thank you :) and you play it on the guitar? or the drums :) or wait you mean you LISTEN to it a lot?
Lauren - See, because it was cloudy it made me almost look like I was glowing because of my light shirt...but I really liked it because it almost gave it a "happy" effect :) thanks!
Lauren, I agree that this shot does have a happy feel to it and I really like your song choice...I like Corinne Bailey Rae...someone brought her to my attention just a year or so ago.
I looked through all your photos, and they just get better and better as time goes on. You got a great 365, probably one of the few that has kept me interested all the way through your current 174 photos!
*sigh* :) ....all I can say is that my heart if filled with joy after reading all of these lovely comments. I am so thankful you guys take the time to actually COMMENT. No comment is the same...you guys speak from your hearts and that is why these words mean so much to me. I couldnt ask for more. You are all so great. I wish this 365 project NEVER had to end...(or does it?)
Sorry I havnt had hardly ANY time today...I was working until late after noon, then I walked next door do a friends house and was there until late...not around a computer to check, comment, browse...etc. I will catch up tomorrow....because I truly appreciate you guys!! hugs!!

I love that song! I've been away from 365 for a bit, just not feeling up to the challenge, but I logged in today and wanted to stop by and see your shots. This is a lovely self portrait. Great work as always, Lauren.
