I miss those crayon coloring days :)
the smell of crayons always bring back childhood memories. I love smells like that. you know, the ones that remind you of some place or a meaningful memory or a silly time. In fact. I love smelly good stuff!! I mean, heck, how awful would it be if we had no noses?! that would be just absolutely undoubtfully horrific...
not to smell the sweet summer breeze...
the crisp autumn air...
ooey gooey chocolate chip cookies...
the familiar smell of gma's house...
bath and body works lotion and spray :)
mmm. I love smelly good stuff!!! flowers, food, candles, coffee!! mmm coffee. okay I just now established I would die without the smell of coffee.
hahahhaha I'm just laughing at myself right now. Did I seriously just go on a rant about noses and smelling and smelly-good stuff?
why yes, yes I did. ha. but don't you agree?!! Noses are wonderful!!! (for smelling GOOD smells anyways... I could live without bathroom fumes and cow manuer :D)
Okay I'm done. You see what taking pictures of random crazy things does to my mind? I think the swirl in the crayons are hypnotizing me or something.
beautiful! and I totally agree on all counts - coloring was always a favorite of mine - and now I love to color with my daughter and son! I kept a set of crayons in my dorm room in college - my girlfriends and I would get them out with a good coloring book when we needed to de-stress :) GREAT (and cheap!) therapy!! ;)
Yes, they're much nicer than those colored textas the kids seem to get nowadays. One of my most fond memories is coming to school in kindy & realizing I had no crayolas & was so down I wanted to go home & then an hour later my Mom comes & she's bought me a triple-layer Crayola. That was one of my best day ever.
Nice, Lauren. I love the smell of crayons too. It takes me back many, (as in more than I care to think about) years to when I was probably less than 5 and it was a horribly hot summer day. Some friends and I were sitting on the sidewalk under the shade of a large tree, coloring. The crayons were in a tin of some type and they were beginning to melt. I can still remember how they smelled. :) Thanks for the trip down memory lane. :)
I love this picture. I can remember getting a brand new box of crayola crayons and being stoked! I would have picked crayons over any toy or barbie out there! Great shot!
Wanna hear something funny? I hadn't looked at the people's photos yet today that I follow. I just clicked on browse and todays photos and out of all the photo thumbnails displayed, yours was the one that caught my eye. Of course it was yours, lol!
Awesome shot! I still love crayons and use them with my little cousins whenever I get the chance...I think you've inspired me to go out and buy myself a pack! ;)
love the roygbiv, beautiful vivid colors! Lauren, just wanted to say thank you so much for your sweet comment on my final shot the other day...you made my day : )
i was quite amused by your rambling on and i agree on all parts except the coffee, its not my favourite smell in the world. my alternative is a hot chocolate. creative photo, brings me back to the simple days of pre-school. :)
Great shot. I know what you mean about the smell of crayons. I love buying boxes of crayons for my grandchildren. When I comment to them about how much I love the smell of new crayons they look at me like I'm crazy. They much prefer markers.
I love the composition, DOF and the colors. Not to mention that I love and still have and use crayons. I mostly melt them to use in my paper crafting endeavors.
I'm sorry to flood you with comments on so many photos at once. You've managed to grab and hold onto my attention. I hope for my project this year to be as amazingly artful and deep and rich as yours. You've really inspired me! I noticed that you are almost at 365 I hope you continue on.
Love the composition/color selection of this subject. Really cool. And yes, I agree. when I look at crayons, I think of my childhood days spent as coloring away in coloring books/sketchpads. =)
WOW! NO wonder this is on the front page..
I love crayons but they are not as waxy as they used to be and don't colour the same. This picture really popped out at me
Loved this on the popular page. New to 365, but checked out your previous photos, and girl do you have TALENT! I wish I had picked up a camera before the age of 30 :)
@dayna - I've decided to keep going, so no worries :) :)
@chamrick - aw! thanks soo much!!!! but you are still SUPER young you have SO much time. You are beautiful by the way, I love the shirt you are wearing in your picture!!
Love the crayons! Fabulous shot! This is so funny because I used a box of crayons for a filler in a gift I gave my son. When he was done finding the real gift in the box he asked if he could keep the crayons LOL.
This is really creative, and the effect is awesome! ;)
@dawnetta HAHA!! it really IS great CHEAP therapy :) I might have to pack a box of crayons with me when I go off to college now :)
