SOOC - because, really, what else would you do? I love the June theme of gratitude because that one is easy for me. I can't think of a single photo I've taken for this project that hasn't been a reflection of gratitude for the subject. But this one is a bit different. I've had an intense work week filled with deadlines that have me writing from the early a.m. until past midnight. I really love my job most of the time, but this week...not so much. Then this sunset. And I never would have seen it if I wasn't working. My husband and I went to dinner at a restaurant that I have to write a review about and we watched an hour and a half of the most intense sky show I've seen in years. I caught every phase of this sunset "on film," but this one seemed like the perfect choice because even though you can't see the water, that sun is setting over Cape Cod Bay and there is a hidden seagull in this image. So a date night with my husband, a spectacular sunset that we enjoyed for over an hour, a pretty decent dinner that included some incredible oysters - and I'm going to get paid for all this pleasure and beauty. I take back every complaint I've grumbled this week about my job...
It is definitely moments like these when you realize yo really don't have it so bad. This sunset is spectacular! I love the gold tones here. And yes, I see the seagull. I'm glad you enjoyed the dinner, the date, and definitely the view.
Thank you for the wonderful comments, but what stunned me about this photo is I've never even seen one like it in my part of the world, let alone taken a photo of if.
Sounds like a wonderful evening, and definitely something to be grateful for! I agree about finding things about your subjects that make you grateful...I feel the same way about mine. Since starting this project, I've become so much more aware of the beauty around me. I always thought that I appreciated nature and all of it's gifts, but now I see bugs, tiny bugs, and I love finding all of the interesting things about them. Photography makes me look around and want to take everything in - and I'm so grateful for that! :)
This is such a wonderful story. I know many people have said this before but 365 has really opened my eyes to the beauty of our world in a whole new way. It sounds like you got a real gift today and I am so happy you shared with us. This is exquisite and a fav for me my dear!
Awesome capture and sounds like you had a great date night! I tell people that my 365 project has helped me see the little things in a big way and the big things in a small way. It's an awesome journey we are all having!
Amazing and instant fave. I can relate to the writing, though mine is fiction, so maybe not as grueling(?) Well, some days, I guess it's pretty intense as I will go for 12 hour stints into the night. What are you writing?
WOWzer that sounds like the peerfect end of a crappy work week! I love golden tones of sunsets over coastlines... this is a perfect example of why I love them so much... gorgeous!!
I adore sunsets and this is truly spectacular!! Beautiful tones, composition and gull! Lovely to hear you enjoyed a night out and this breathtaking view!
