I decided to tackle birds today in a serious way. This one is for Jennifer and Brian, and I tried to add a link to the song by R. Kelly on YouTube a la Keith David, but couldn't figure that one out...so many people inspire me here and make me want to stretch my world and my experiences in it. That's what this photo is about.

the colors of the sun on the water are amazing! (I would only think sunset too, sunrises are lovely but a rare sight for me as well!) the bird in action is just perfectly composed. and I love that you were trying to link the song! you are really s-t-r-e-t-c-h-i-n-g, like your bird! :))

@jenrobcarr I'm loving the Rebel too, and as I was at the beach shooting hundreds of shore birds, I actually tried to come up with funny things they might be saying to each other. I'm just not as clever as you, but I had alot of fun playing with the birds.
Awesome shot, Laurie! You've certainly got the new camera figured out, right from the start! I like the stretch on the wings ... great timing, and I like the colour of the feathers and the matching tone of the sunset on the water. Excellent. And of course, I too love the community here. It was a great find, quite by accident, when I was tracking down the name of a bird.
