It really made me happy to stand at my mailbox today and discover that two of my 365 photos were on the cover of the Cape Experience section of The Cape Codder newspaper, one of the publications I write for every week. (A third photo is inside.)
I joined 365 to improve my photography skills so I could take better photos to accompany my stories. With newspapers in decline, staff members are being reduced and freelance journalists (like me) who can provide their own photos are in demand. I still have so much to learn, but thanks to this website and all the incredible teachers and friends who have provided so much inspiration, I now make money off my photos every week.
When I first joined, I had no idea the wonderful community I would find here, but I am so grateful for each and every person I have "met" since the beginning of January. Thank you so much for all your support, and I hope you all have a wonderful Labor Day Weekend!
my whole comment did not post..that is so strange...i said that i am so proud of you...this is just amazing and i really want to get a copy of this if you can get an extra one....i will get you my address.. you must be so thrilled...i am.
I'm repeating myself from many weeks ago ... stories to go with your pics AND pics to go with your stories. You do both so well and you've been there for a while, nice to see the papers are acknowledging that. Huge congrats to you!
That's fantastic! I love those pics, and I'm so happy you got them into print! It's great that you're developing your skills and making yourself more marketable as a journalist. Keep up the great work!
Hey, this is no surprise to me. We all know that your pictures are wonderful. They are just now seeing what we see daily . Congrats to you. Your hard work has paid off. I expect to see a shot of yours in USA Today any time now.
Yay! I used to get photos on the cover of the entertainment page of the Worcester Telegram when I worked at Foothills Theatre...sometimes with a byline. So I know how awesome this is. :-) This is freaking fabulous! :-)
That is so awesome! It really must be wonderful to see not just your words in print but your photos too. I just love opening the newspaper and thumbing through for your articles whenever I'm on the Cape. Your writing is always so entertaining. I'm so proud of you!
boring or not it is your photo and at least the were posting something, I had so many boring photos on my project, and sometimes is not only about the photo, the whole post experience works too, like this post makes me happy, congratulations you deserved!
