For my family that still live in my hometown of Binghamton, New York and my 365 friends in Pennsylvania. We've had five days of gray skys and rain so I went searching for the sunshine of goldenrods to photograph, but then I learned about the horrible flooding down there and this photo spoke to me more.
Thank you Laurie. It has been quite devastating for sure, and the Susquehana hasn't crested yet. It has been a rough few days here, but fortunately we have had minimal damage compared to so many others.
this is lovely my dear...as always. i hope everyone is fine?? how did the tomatoes come out???? and re: our weather..yes it is mostly warm and sunny here...not always though...we do get some rain, but not much. i live right by the water so sometimes the sun does not come out here until a bit later in the day...but lately...hot hot hot...80's at the beach ...
@robinwarner My father and brother live on higher ground, so they are safe, but can't even get to work. My brother's small town is underwater and he says the only grocery store is demolished. The 365 peeps, Rick and Brian both came through unscathed too. I ended up canning 16 quarts and 5 pints of tomatoes and didn't finish until 2 a.m. It's been a tiring week, for sure.
@digitalrn The Susquehana did crest in Binghamton, but I think it is receding today. The devastation and loss for so many families and businesses is overwhelming.
I'm sending dry thoughts your way, hoping all your relatives stay safe. what is happening in the world (or weather) is just so crazy. This photo is very beautiful - sometimes the images just call to us I find. hugs to you.
Sensational! Great colors and contrasts. We live so far removed from the weather on the Mainland, I never heard about the Susquehanna River flooding. In Hawaii, we don't even HAVE a Weather Channel. Sometimes I miss that, too. We are so isolated sometimes, but I'm glad to know that Rich and Barb are okay.
This photo is lovely. Great POV and colors.
Peace & Love
