Beach Behind Bars by lauriehiggins

Beach Behind Bars

Today was a stormy, windy, dark and dismal day, so I decided to continue my experiments with black and white, since that's pretty much all nature offered me to work with.

I wasn't in love with this photo and it didn't remind me of anyone, so I'm dedicating this one to experimentation and trying new things.
What a great shot

It was a weird day for outdoor photos. Before it snowed, my pic of the day was my outer at work. And a hipstamatic photo of a photo...sadness. LOL Then it snowed. :-) I like the textures in this photo. I also love those little fences at the ocean...so cool to look at...nice lines

What a beautiful shot LH! The overcast sky gives it a dreamy quality! :-)
Hope the sun comes out tomorrow! :-)

It's another good one as far as I'm concerned. Nice job. You are doing well with the B/W.

@lorihiro I'm meeting Robin in Boston tomorrow, so I have no doubt there will be sunshine, nature be damned. I'm so excited and I'm going to give her a big hug to take back to you, sweetie!

omg I love this! it has such a lonely feel to it - beautiful and solitary, very moody and oddly appealing. I hope you and Robin have fun!! :)

I love it! This is another one that makes me homesick! The beach is such a great spot for b&w experimentation. One of my favorite b&w shots (I actually entered it in a gallery show) is of the lifesaving station at Race Point.

I think these B&W windswept photos you've been doing are REALLY beautiful. I can see this one being a print on the wall--excellent job

I love the windswept look of that tree - beautiful and very dramatic!

Very nice B&W Laurie. Yesterday really was a weird weather day. Nor'easter coming tomorrow!

I guess I don't want to be there today. Looks like you were enjoying it, though, nice contrast.

This is a beautiful composition, Laurie, and is perfect in B&W. That fence just pops off the page. Boston, you lucky girl. My favorite small city.
