We had a 24 hour Nor'easter and the weather was dismal all day, until sunset. This photo is for Karen (@karen68) because I know she loves the amber light just before sunset and because she gave me my first glimpse of baby seagulls, which somehow I had never seen.
I'm writing a story for the Cape Cod Times about my experiences here on 365 and thought it might be nice to add some other voices from my friends here. Anyone who is interested in making a comment "on the record" can email me at lauriehiggins@comcast.net. I'll post a link to the story here when it's published.
@pwallis Crooked horizens make me crazy. I'd love to take credit, but I use Picnik to edit my photos and they have a very easy straightening tool that I love. I don't edit alot, but tweeks like that are important when you're trying to catch a bird in flight.
It cracks me up that you were looking at my photo at the exact same time I was including you in a comment on Keith David's site about the Cookie Monster photo. This is both a large community, and a very intimate one, which I kind of love.
Fantastic shot and how exciting about your story! Will look forward to reading it!!! The skies are always amazing after those big storms - you captured it (and the bird) beautifully!!!
Man, I saw this a few days ago, but my eyeballs would not stay open. Am I too late to share my 365 experience? If not, let me know and I'll e-mail you a blurb. I love this place as well, and connecting to this community has been such a great experience...meeting great people like you, Laurie.
This is so very gorgeous! Perfect sky, beautiful bird in flight, and the subtle lighting on the water...wow.
