Everyone told me that in year two you get to break all the rules (such as you don't have to post every day and you don't have to post a photo of that day). I'm kind of a rule follower when the rules make sense to me, and taking a photo a day is something that actually works for me. My oldest daughter challenged me to get away from "pretty photos" and really experiment in year two. So this is an experiment with lens, with subject and with composition.
Figures Jess would throw a challenge at you on a project that's already a challenge. LOL But yep, @lorihiro is right, it's beautiful in a very primal rustic way. The focus is so spot-on. BTW, isn't it fun to break the rules sometimes. You'll discover some stuff that's outside the box.
I'm often a day or so off as well. It's difficult to sometimes find time in a day to take a photo. Yours are amazing and I hope after a year I'm half as good as you.
I love rose hips, even when they're old and withered. I still have one bright red one that I'm waiting to wither a bit so I can shoot it. This is very nice, especially for something out of your comfort zone. your focus is superb.
