I thought is was funny how many people commented about how hard clamming looked. My husband saw the photo and decided to go clamming himself. Today I went to the beach to photograph my own personal shellfisherman, but he got trumped by this woman on a horse.
There are quite a few horses on the Cape, but this is only the second time in 30 years I've seen one on the beach. The rider ran back and forth over the flats, splashing in the waves. Watching her, I couldn't help but feel happy to be alive on this fine day.
that is so beautiful! I just have one question, I'm sorry, I just have to ask, I mean what happens when the horse poops? I'm pretty sure the rider doesn't get off and clean it up. But I'm just sayin'.
I've seen them quite often. Didn't you see that one I photographed from very afar a few weeks ago. It was so far away I did a lot of processing. I love seeing horses on the beach! Very close and nice catch. I hope you had a great weekend!
@stepheesue I know, right? My mother and I were trying to decide whether horses are even allowed on the beaches here because people raise such a stink about dogs (pun intended).
@ptowncook Somehow I missed that photo. I tried to look for it in your album, but couldn't find it. Do you remember what date you posted it? Funny, but both my mother and daughter were as amazed by this sight as I was. Maybe more people ride on the beach on the Outer Cape?
We have a couple of stables out here (or more) and I often see people riding on the beach. Not usually in winter. I just discovered that I posted it in my extras album. I did a lot of processing on this because the horse was so far away from me that I thought it was a bear. But I think this is fun:
