This is a memory photo because I want to remember this evening. I had already taken some perfectly lovely pastel theme photos of flowers today but when I had to pick my son up after his art class, I grabbed my camera bag. After I picked him up, we headed to the beach to watch the sunset.
Tommy sat at the end of one rock jetty and just watched while I kept walking towards the sunset. The water and quality of the waves (always so different) reminded me of the first time I saw Cape Cod Bay when I was just 17 years old. It reminded me of why I love it here so much.
Thats really quite dark and enhances the strip of brilliant sun colour! The white light from the sky reflected in the water is almost like moonlight. A frightfully good photo, Laurie!
I was thinking about you and your son earlier tonight--wondering if he is feeling 100% yet?! I am so glad you posted this memory shot! The sunset, sky, and light are so divine! Just divine, LH! :-)
Beautiful photo to capture the memory for you. I like that this is darker than most sunset photos. Most people catch the moments just before, during and after the sun hits the water. It takes patience and a simple love of the beach to stay and savor the view until the light is gone and the shadows have set it. This is really lovely for all those reasons.
holy cow...OMG...You, my dear...are a professional...I just can't even get over the improvement...you need to think about submitting some of your work....you are really really talented
The way the light hits the water atnthebfront and of course the orange light on the horizon are just amazing! You just have to go with the journalism shot over themes and those you at first thought you should post! This is a great shot too...besides holding a good memory for you.
