Johnny Jump Ups and Violets always remind me of my Grandma Palmer, whose yard was filled with them. I used to go out and pick bouquets for her every spring. They were so tiny that it took quite a while to get enough for an actual bouquet. I wonder if those flowers still bloom in the cracks in the enormous stone patio my grandfather laid...
So perfectly spring. I love violets. We had plenty of them growing up in the country but our neighbor had millions. We would pick and pick for ourselves and also for Bertha who lived there. She made jelly and such from them. I would pick a large bunch then surround it with their leaves. I don't have one violet at my house. Hope I'm in time to pick them from my friends house! I hope you and your family have a splendid Easter.
