Skeletal Whispers

"By the edge of a clearing, it stood, a silent vigil
while its hollow windows exhaled
only skeletal whispers." (Laurie W. Frazier)
Oh my, I so love your pictures. I want to go there! My brother and I used to sneak out and hang out in an old house like this. I miss my brother. Your fault :)

@tommykeith Thank you, Tommy. For some uncanny reason, old houses just fascinate me. I guess it's because many of my relatives are gone (my parents, grandparents, etc.) I miss those days and wish I had paid more attention to the history they told me . . . so for me, old buildings and houses hold the remnants of the lives that lived and worked there. I just wish those walls could talk . . . sorry about your brother . . . but go to those places you once visited and just listen carefully . . .

Beautiful, I love these old houses too.

I used to work in a fairly run down area of Sydney (cheap business rent when we were starting up) and that;s when I did my last 365.

We've since moved the offices to a much nicer area, which is great, but choosing topics for shots is so much harder now :)

Love these gems! There was an old house we played in until a friend fell through the floor...He was okay, but it was then we stayed out. The remains still sit in an Exit ramp in Richmond Va.

Wonderful comp, pov and texture; somehow it makes me think of some of the poetry of Robert Frost. Fav.

@tristansmum thank you ... Love Robert Frost! I'll take this as a compliment!

Wonderful shot! I love how abandoned it looks with the brush all kind of overgrown.

@emrob Thanks - me too! So intrigued by abandoned buildings and their ultimate demise . . . but I can't help but think of the families that once inhabited them . . . the houses are like skeletons . . .
