my last Christmas Island dives this week - well I am still hoping I can re-deployed here in the near future.
The dives today were on a magnificent vertical wall which drops to possibly 50-60m or more, we wanted to spend more time under water so limited ourselves to around 25m, wonderful dive, so many different creatures. I have trying to get a good photo of one of these guys for months which is why I selected this of all my photos taken today. We had baracudas and a couple of curious reef sharks cruise by at one point
@buggirl no not Ryan's Ravine, opposite direction really, the wall is just a bit past West White Beach and is a magnificent dive. I worry that diving here has ruined me for anywhere else, I cannot imagine anywhere else measuring up
@notliz I was pretty happy with the clarity too, u/w photography can be very challenging, I'm still trying to figure out how to use the camera and strobe well, but pretty happy with the results lately
Lovely!! What an amazing place to have been able to spend time. I don't know that I would have gotten any work done, I would want to be in the water all the time.
Wonderful clarity! Great capture and I know how hard underwater photography is. Drop-offs like the one you described always scared me but I'm glad you had fun :). Riffsharks sound a bit on the scary side, too, though...
Oooer....Perpendicular Wall! I had the most amazing shark experience there. And I TOTALLY agree with you about being ruined!! I am the same - I seriously haven't found anywhere else that compares. Am still green with envy!
