Goanna/Monitor - possibly Gould's Monitor (aka sand goanna)

Firstly thank you to everyone for viewing and faving my road trip photos, I'm glad others are enjoying the trip too. I'm so tired at the end of each days driving that I am a bit behind in commenting and plan to catch up asap.
I bought a bird guide and a reptile guide, but am still not sure what type of goanna (aka monitor) this is. I thought he has lovely markings and he paused on the side of the road, posing for me, unlike some of the others who took off as soon as I slowed the car down.
He is quite slender and about 1.4m long (about 55 inches)
