Lazing in the sun, Australian Sealion, Point Labatt Eyre Peninsula
I drove my little car about 45km along dirt roads to get to the sealion viewing platform high above the roacks and at first saw nothing, then saw about 5 sealions on the sand above the waterline, they looked dead. Then to my relief one rolled over, apparently they just sleep in a position that looks like they just washed up. The longer I looked the more I was able to spot on the rocks, a few would occasionally roll over, two even woke went for a swim and then back on the rocks to sleep more.
Sealions always give me the impression that they know how to enjoy life--- bellyflopping into the water all happy and clumsy, laying out on their backs in the sun . . . such a fun shot and story :)
