I am visiting the UK for a few months and spending time with my "long lost love reunited" and out story still makes people say "awwwwww how sweet" but also many asking why would you move to the UK from Australia
I bought my Vespa on Saturday, he got his Triumph Tiger on Tuesday, picked up the Vespa Saturday morning and we went on a ride to Wales in the afternoon. Good ride for the first day.
I look forward to seeing England through your eyes! I moved to the UK from WA 11 years ago and whilst I miss Australia, my friends and the wide open spaces, there is so much to see and do in the UK and Europe I don't get too much time to be homesick! Enjoy your travels with your Vespa, "long lost love..." and his Trumph Tiger!
@judithdeacon Everyone here keeps asking us why we'd move here from Australia. When they learn that we are both dual nationals they feel much happier with the whole idea. Especially when I add that my plan is to have one foot in each country as much as possible
@bobfoto the Olympus OMD EM5 was a great camera to have on the Vespa, the Canon stayed back at home. Caerphilly castle is just gorgeous, but I do really like castles, and this one has appeared in a number of tv shows and films including quite a few eps of Doctor Who, so now I will be trying to spot it so I can say "oh look, I have been there"
@alia_801 we are already members of National Trust and English Heritage but I am thinking it is possibly worth joining Cadw to get free entry to the Welsh sites, there really are some wonderful ones and so close to Bristol
After a year or two they all tend to let you in, but for the first year it's definitely worth joining Cadw - the buildings are so different, and very worth visiting. Conwy is my favourite, and we might head to Beaumaris next week when we're in Snowdonia for a couple of days...
great shot!! you are in the UK and you got blue skies!!!!?! don't know what you did right, its grey here. Oh, and I used to date a girl from Newry so I've been to N.Ireland and I loved it, have fun!!
@chewyteeth the big thing is that the photo was taken in October, but have had a couple of blue sky days lately, or an hour here or there ...... I was in Newry last Tuesday for the day
(it's only a model)
